Who is this coaching for?

This coaching is specifically designed for Age Group triathletes who struggle with swimming endurance and are looking to get faster. I do NOT work with children or Masters swimmers wanting to race Butterfly, Backstroke or Breastroke. I've spent many years learning and refining my craft working with AG triathletes that swim between 2.20 - 1.30/100.

I already have a triathlon coach, can you still help me?

Yes. Approximately 50% of my clients have a triathlon coach in addition to working with me. Swimming is a sport unlike running and cycling. My detailed-oriented approach and the coaching process I've built over the last 10 years working online has allowed me to tailor and refine this process in a way that is very difficult for a coach looking after 3 different disciplines to do.

Can I just buy a training program from you?

No. My coaching isn't just main sets and a series of drills. When I coach, I teach. I want you to learn as much from me as possible about moving through the water, improving your stroke and preparing for races, but more than that I want to equip you to handle it all on your own. I've got clients that have been with me for years, but that's because they choose to (and we have a great relationship) not because they feel like they can't swim without me.

How quickly will I see results?

Most clients feel a difference in their swimming within 4-6 weeks. You'll start understanding your technique better, holding more consistent paces, and swimming with greater confidence. Building lasting improvements and reaching your specific goals can take 3-4 months (or more) of consistent work.

I'm not very technical - will I be able to follow your coaching?

I specialize in breaking down complex swimming technique into simple, clear instructions. All my drill videos show you exactly what to do, and I provide crystal-clear feedback that's easy to understand and implement.

What if I can only swim 2 times per week instead of 3?

While 3 swims per week is ideal for building endurance, I can work with your schedule. However, progress will be a little slower with only 2 sessions. We'll need to make each workout count and may need to extend your timeline to reach your goals.

Do I need any special equipment?

You'll need access to a pool, basic swim gear (goggles, cap, fins), and a smart watch (Garmin, Suunto, Polar, Coros, or Wahoo) to track your workouts. I'll let you know if any specific training tools would be helpful for your particular technique issues.

What if I'm not comfortable in open water?

We'll focus on building your pool endurance and technique first. Once you're swimming confidently in the pool, we can address open water skills and race-specific preparation. Many of my clients start nervous about open water and finish feeling completely confident on race day.

What are the prerequisites for working together?
For this 1-on-1 online coaching to work effectively, you must:
  • Be at least 20 years old
  • Be willing to work hard and show me consistency
  • Communicate with me regularly about your progress
  • Be patient with the process
  • Own a Garmin, Suunto, Polar, Coros or Wahoo watch
  • Have access to a pool at least 3 times per week
